01

Ownership

Ariba Jahan holds copyright in the original content created for this design system: the writing, documentation, code, visual arrangements, and brand assets. Third-party trademarks and licensed materials are not covered and remain with their owners.

You're welcome to read the system, learn from it, and take ideas from how it's put together. Please don't copy the brand assets or present the work as your own.

02

Process

Ariba builds with AI as a tool, as part of her practice of building in the open. She sets the direction, makes the design and writing decisions, and shapes the work through many rounds of iteration. The AI helps her build faster; the direction and the decisions are hers.

Copyright protection may not extend to material generated solely by an AI tool. The direction, the decisions, and the design of this work are Ariba's.

03

Typography

The system is set in two open-source typefaces served through Google Fonts: Big Shoulders Display for headlines, numerals, and labels, and Barlow for reading. Both are licensed under the SIL Open Font License.

References

The format of this site — a design system presented as something you can browse and drive rather than a static reference — was inspired by Balloon, an independent design system by Matthew Linn. The visual language, palette, and every component are Ariba's own.

This project isn't affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Balloon or Matthew Linn. It's named here as a reference and a thank-you.
